Fly, Spin & Ice Fishing in Jackson Hole
The Snake River runs right through town, and Stone Drug has kept Jackson anglers supplied since 1975. Fly Fishing
We keep a focused fly selection built around this valley’s water: dries, nymphs, and streamers that match what is hatching on the Snake, the Gros Ventre, and the Hoback, along with leaders, tippet, floatant, and the small items that tend to run out mid-trip. Summer dry-fly fishing for native Snake River fine-spotted cutthroat is the classic Jackson experience, and the counter is always glad to share what has been producing this week.
Spin Fishing
Rods, reels, nets, and tackle boxes, including dependable Ugly Stik rod-and-reel setups, with Eagle Claw hooks and terminal tackle to rig them. The lure wall covers the local favorites: Rapala, Panther Martin, Rooster Tail, Berkley Gulp!, and Pot-O-Gold. Spin fishing is a wonderful way to introduce kids to the sport at Jackson Lake or along a quiet bend of the Snake. Ice Fishing
Fishing here does not end when the valley freezes. We stock jigs, bait, line, and cold-weather essentials for the hard-water season on area lakes, including Kinco winter gloves to keep your hands working. Please check ice conditions and current regulations before heading out.
Where to Fish Near Jackson
- Snake River — the home water, with miles of accessible bank and float fishing for native cutthroat just minutes from downtown.
- Gros Ventre & Hoback Rivers — smaller water with fewer people and the same beautiful native trout.
- Jackson Lake & the park lakes — lake trout and cutthroat, well suited to spin anglers and families. A Wyoming license is required in Grand Teton.
- Flat Creek and special-regulation water — several well-known stretches nearby carry special seasons and tackle rules, so check the current regulations before you go.
